Is University of Ky. basketball tradition and fan support greatest in history of the sport?

It seems to be although I am from California and have never been back east, that there is something magical about Ky. basketball that none of the other colleges have and it seems to me that every time a team plays Ky. that is their superbowl. I have became a huge fan of UK since Calipari took over and I thought i would ask that question to see how people back east feel about UK they are admired here even in California where most eastern teams are frowned on.
