Can a car owner take the co-signers name off of the auto loan without the co-signers approval?

I'm moving across country to live with my fianc� as well as taking a better job offer. My parents however disagree with my living with the opposite before marriage. What does this have to do with a car? Well my dad just helped me get a new car and because it would look better to the bank (because I have no credit), I'm listed as the co-signer and my dad is listed as the owner. Because of his disagreement, he's threatened to take my name off of the loan. I have all my plans made and I'm moving the beginning of next month, and I'm worried he'll actually go through with it.... With me listed just as a co-signer, is he able to do that?
