I have an Acer notebook laptop, but need to somehow make it work with the sims 3 game..?

i have looked at the requirements for this game ive got the space, ive got the DirectX 9.0. Im not quite sure what a 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent means and i need to get a better video card, my current one that i have is a Mobile Intel 945 express chipset family but i need a GMA 3-Series, GMA 4-Series how do i get this? i bought the game to find my CD Drive doesn't read the disc. Please help!
